Background InformationThe weather station is physically located in North West Littlehampton (Latitude: N 50° 48 ' 36 '' ( 50.810°) - Longitude: E 0° 30 ' 35 '' ( -0.510°)). In relation to Angmering it is 0.5 miles from the parish’s SW corner, and 1.75 miles from the centre of the village. The weather station is manufactured by Oregon Scientific (Model No.: WMR928N), and is connected to a Personal Computer running Virtual Weather Station software 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The weather station went 'live' and started collecting data from Saturday 13th February 2005. Various statistics can be found on the Statistics page.

Rainfall
The tipping of the bucket, causes a trigger to occur. The trigger is relayed to the base station for onwards data transmission to the Virtual Weather Station software. The sensor is located about 2 metres above ground level, as shown in the picture to the right.
